I’ve added several images of paintings that have been either completed on-sight, or are in some form of being started. Many are in “the ugly” stage. That stage where paintings look like muck. One of the images is of a cardboard (with poly on it), that I use to do multiple oil “sketches”. This came from Ron Boehmer’s idea, which is a good one. It has an edging that keeps the “cover”, which is a similar cardboard piece, away from the paintings. A good way to work on several things, at once, the light changes, you like different subjects, etc. You could easily do this with pastels also.
I was asked to show some paintings in various stages of progress. So, with that in mind, I am going to take two paintings that are shown here, the “Red Door”, and “The Gate”, and take photos of them as they progress to completion. You can already tell that I got a lot more done, on-sight, with the “Red Door”. I will start working on those very soon. So, enjoy what is here!
