How exciting! I was offered the opportunity to create sketches for images which will go on The Duke Dog, the mascot for James Madison University! This is similar to what other towns have done, having artists paint different molded sculptures, and then putting them around their area. I had put my “name in the pot” of artists who were interested in participating, and they emailed me this morning! My sketch will still need to be accepted by the JMU board. My mind is already humming right along with some ideas.

I am not quite sure what “Duke’s” actual size is, but there are so many things that could be done. I will need to sit down and open my mind to the possibilities.

I will try to put the sketches and ideas on this blog, so you can see where I am going with the project. So many things coming up at the same time, but creatively, that is good, keeps the muse busy!

I may be helping with the sets needed on a local indie film. That should be a different experience, working in 3D, and real-time. The JMU project, the Montpelier Hunt Race submissions, creating more paintings for the “Neverland Series – Paintings Inspired by Film”, which will be shifting places to be seen. Currently, the NS paintings are at the local public radio station, WMRA. I also have a show of equine art coming up in August 2007 in Mt. Jackson, VA, “Horses of the Light”.

Two of the galleries I was in, have closed. So now I need to research, and find a couple more. I will be concentrating on more urban areas, as well as possibly in the Asheville, NC area. In all these areas there are more people actually collecting artwork. I will keep you up on those developments as well.
